Russ Adams, the retiring superintendent of the MOC-Floyd Valley Community School District, has been named to two leadership positions at Northwestern College. He will serve as director of the Master of Education program in educational administration and as assistant director of the Center for Innovation & Leadership.

Northwestern College will launch a Master of Business Administration degree this fall. Featuring a rigorous and adaptive 100% online curriculum totaling 33 credits, the faith-informed MBA program is also customizable with electives such as project management, entrepreneurship and innovation, and digital marketing.

Northwestern College’s Master of Education program tied for 73rd out of more than 300 schools in U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best Online Master’s in Education Programs ranking. Northwestern also tied for 90th in U.S. News' online bachelor’s degree program category—highest among institutions in Iowa.

For the fifth year in a row, Northwestern College has set a spring enrollment record. This year’s number is 1,603, up from 1,584 last spring.

Northwestern College’s latest physician assistant graduates have recorded a 100% first-time pass rate on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination. All 29 of the physician assistant students who graduated in August passed the exam on their first attempt.

For the fifth consecutive year, Northwestern College has set enrollment records. This fall’s enrollment is 1,715, up three students from last year.

Northwestern College has hired Dr. James Ruby to serve as the director of its graduate counseling programs. He comes from California State University, Fullerton, where he was department chair and professor of human services.

The second cohort of students in Northwestern College’s physician assistant studies program will graduate Saturday, Aug. 12. Master’s degrees will be awarded to 29 students during a 10 a.m. ceremony in Christ Chapel.

Northwestern College has announced the hiring of Dr. Jill Swisher as dean of its Graduate School & Adult Learning division.
