RN to BSN application instructions
Apply for admission. If you have never applied to Northwestern College before, apply now for admission.
If you completed a degree or any classes at Northwestern in the past, simply re-enroll. Applying is free.
To be eligible for admission, you must meet the following criteria:
- An associate degree or hospital diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale ( conditional admission with GPA below 2.7)
- Send Official Transcripts from your associate degree and all previous institutions (unofficial transcripts can be sent for a transfer credit review, but official transcripts are required for admission) by mail or as an official e-transcript to the admissions office.
- Provide a copy of active RN license to practice nursing in the state of residence from your Board of Nursing website

Once you have received your acceptance to the RN to BSN completion program you will be asked to provide proof of immunizations and personal professional liability insurance. You will be registered for classes and provided login information that will enable you to access your online classes, your college email, and your student account: MyNWC.
Financial aid is available to eligible students and It is recommended that you complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), found online at fafsa.ed.gov. Northwestern’s ID number for financial aid is 001883. Payment plans are also available and tuition is due prior to each semester you take classes.
