Birth Through Grade Three Inclusive Settings

In as little as 1 year, you can earn the Birth Through Grade Three Inclusive Settings endorsement to teach in early childhood integrated settings, including preschools, K-3 classrooms, early childhood centers and Head Start classrooms. Teachers with this endorsement (formally Endorsement 100) can also serve as administrators for early childhood programs.
Northwestern is the only college in Iowa that offers an online path to your Birth Through Grade Three Inclusive Settings endorsement that meets requirements for the state of *Iowa. The endorsement enhances your teaching license but does not lead to licensure for un-licensed educators; it is for teachers who have a degree in elementary education.
Why earn your endorsement?
The Birth Through Grade Three Inclusive Settings endorsement authorizes you to teach in integrated settings for children from birth to age 8. It varies from the early childhood special education endorsement, which authorizes the holder to teach in contained special education settings from birth to age 8.
